About This Project

The cities of Seattle, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Boston, with generous support from the Blackstone Ranch Institute, created the Climate Action Campaign Toolkit to provide cities with the community engagement resources they need to inspire their residents and businesses to take action to reduce climate pollution. In order to confront the problem of climate change, everyone will need to do his or her part. As local governments, cities interact with the community on a daily basis and therefore are in a unique position to communicate with residents and businesses about the challenge of and solutions to climate change.

In creating a web-based toolkit of high quality, adaptable resources for engagement programs, the project is intended to significantly lower the sizable start-up costs that currently hold many cities back from engaging their residents and businesses on the issue of climate change. Available to all cities, the Toolkit resources offers cost and time savings to the more than 940 cities nationwide that have committed to taking local action on climate change as part of the U.S. Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement.
